My first shoes...

Saturday Ned and I hit an outlet mall on the mainland and I bought a pair of Nike's. I am so excited for them, maybe too excited. I have actually never owned a pair of athletic shoes that didn't come from Wal-mart or Payless. Ever. When I was in middle school I ran cross country and all summer long, I'd look through the ads for shoes and decide on the perfect shoes to get. Then the time would come for me to buy said shoes and I wouldn't have enough money to buy them or just didn't want to spend the money. (I kind of bought most of everything I needed in school.) Anyway, even after I got married I never excersised enough to need a nice pair of shoes. Since I started running, I noticed my feet were killing me and I just wasn't feeling the love from my 16.97 Wal-mart special that I bought like a year and a half ago. So I got myself a pair of fancy running shoes (Lucky for me they were 70% off!) and I am hitting the ground running. I had to try them out last night and I ran 2 whole miles with them and they felt great. The only reason I stopped was because it had gotten dark. So I am looking forward to pounding some serious pavement this week. Maybe I have a marathon in my future.
Ok. That was a joke.
Have a great week!

Good job...props to you for going for the good ones. You and I are very similar. When I started training for the mini-marathon two years ago I bought my first pair of nike's also. I too had always just worn off brands from wal-art or payless. But, geez! There is a huge difference! I now can never go back!
