Tatum's latest Nursery project!

Saturday, July 28, 2007

Here's some of Tatum's creativity for you to enjoy!

Here's a sample of Tatum's artwork. I just learned how to scan all of her artwork, so keep checking for more artistic inspiration by Tatum!

Tatum has been doing really well in her new nursery class in Oak Harbor. She loves her new teacher and would rather go to class than stay with "Boring Mom and Dad". In fact, the first few weeks I would always go into Nursery with her to make sure she was ok in the new ward. Finally a few weeks ago, she said "Mom, just leave!". Well, at least I tried, right?

This is her latest nursery project from Sunday. We'll continue to post each church project she does!

Smiles, smiles and more smiles from Carson. Dad makes a great climbing wall!

Carson playing before bedtime! He loves that 15 minute window of "Carson Time" after Tatum is down for the night. He's loves attention! Who does that sound like? Hmm....

We're at Fort Casey having our usual picnic before our Kite flying. The Fort is beautiful, but freezing cold because it's got a ton of wind and right on the ocean. Right behind everyone is about a mile of raspberries that are almost ripe and FREE to pick when they're ready. Berries in Washington are actually considered a weed because they take over wherever they can. Grandma Neilson wouldn't be too happy about that fact!

Carson giving Mom smiles at our Fort Casey Picnic. How cute is this kid!?!

Tatum posing for a pre-cupcake photo. We don't know what she loved most...the cupcake with way too much frosting....or the Tinkerbell ring stuck on top!

Daddy helping get some height on Tatum's kite! We recently discovered our family hobby that is fun and best of all...FREE!

Whidbey Island is famous for its fantastic wind that flies kites. Everyone on the Island has one and it's a great way to spend the afternoon with the kids. Ned, of course, had to get a "James size Kite" with a seven foot wingspan. Tatum sticks to her dollar special from Wal-Mart! It's her favorite thing to do now, and Carson....well...

Carson seems a little more interested in the wrapper the kite came in!

Tatum is flying her Superman Kite we got for $1.00. We fly it about twice a week or so. I'd say we got our money's worth. It's so windy here that the kites will fly away if you let go...so she's holding on tight!

As Tatum perfects her flying skills, we can all enjoy a view off the Island.

Ned took leave two weeks ago and we went to a family reunion in SLC, Utah. All of the James' were there except Joe who is serving a mission. Tatum had a GREAT time with her cousins and got along with all of her Aunts and Uncles she hadn't seen for a while. Carson also had a good time. The only problem is that MOM got really lazy with the camera and took like...3 pictures. (shown below) Granpa James took a lot of pictures of the family so we don't have a ton to display. But, we had a great time and we were glad to come back to 60 degree weather!

Here is Tatum at Temple Square. She had such a good time and now her favorite song is "I love to see the Temple". Carson was a no-show in the picture because he was very tired and cranky and HOT! Tatum, however, had no problem enjoying the spotlight all herself!
