A week in the life...

Here are some pictures from this week. Tatum has now lost her second tooth in a month! What is going on...she is still my baby!

Our little Princess

It's funny how whatever name you pick for your child they just seem to become that name and you couldn't imagine them as anything else. We had so much NAME DRAMA with baby Raegan. Anyway, Raegan is a feminine for "Little King" and she sure fits it. She is James royalty, for sure. Our new little Princess and we just love her.

Quick update...

Wow, what a tiring week. I'm seriously beyond exhausted and anxiously awaiting Ned's return. In the meantime, I'm trying to get back in the swing of everything with the kids and life in general. I've been doing really well on my diet and exercise and last week I lost 4 pounds. P90X is an amazing workout program. I had forgotten what it felt like to have the scale go in the other direction. When you're pregnant, it just keeps going up and up. So it was a nice change. I have a few cake projects coming up in the next weeks which will be a lot of fun. I'm doing this birthday cake with a sugar crown on top and everything. It should look really cool. It's kind of weird where I am right now. On one hand, I'm soooooo tired and would love nothing more than to just lie on the couch all day long. But on the other hand the more I do and the busier I am keeps my mind going and off of the fact that Ned is gone and makes waiting for his return that much more bearable. Having 3 kids thing is tougher than I thought, but so am I. Here's to another week!

Back on the wagon...

Well it's about that time. Again. Time to lose the baby weight. I've finally realized something about me. I tend to not gain that much weight when I'm pregnant. It's after the baby is born. I mean it makes sense. I'm not throwing up anymore. I'm tired and up all night and eating lots of carbs to keep going, and mostly, I'm just too busy loving on my new baby to really "think" about what I'm eating. So what happens is I have 15 pounds of baby weight to lose and then within 2 months I gain 10 pounds and it turns to 25 pounds to lose. I was determined that this wouldn't happen with baby #3. I have worked too hard to get where I was to throw it all away in 8 weeks. So at 5 weeks postpartum I started back up with things. I have bee doing P90X and it's been going great. Hard work, but definitely worth it. Also I'm eating on the diabetic carb exchange. Which is 2 carb servings for breakfast, 1 for a snack, 3 for lunch, 1 for a snack, 3-4 for dinner and 1 for a snack before bed. A carb serving equals 15 grams of carbs. This is the "diet" (HATE THAT WORD but you know what I mean) that diabetics stay on to control carb intake, empty sugars and keep your blood sugar stable throughout the day. It is basically the food pyramid and super effective and losing excess weight and just feeling really good all day long. Hopefully I will see some results shortly. My brother-in law is getting married mid October and my goal is 15 pounds by then. I am only 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weigh right now. But unfortunately I gained a little right before I got pregnant. So here's to hard work! I'll keep you posted.

Decorating Cookies

We decorated some sugar cookies tonight with the kids. My mom has been visiting for the past 2 weeks and it's been nice having not only the help but just some company, too. We've been doing a lot of fun things around the Island. Here are some pictures of our cookie night! The kids did an excellent job. Carson actually really took to the concept of piping the frosting in a design. Maybe we have a cake decorator on our hands? Tatum also did a great job and really enjoyed piping the frosting is special patterns. Baby Raegan graced us with her presence by...napping.

The many faces...

Why is it that babies can take one picture and look one way...and then take another and look like a completely different person? I already have nickname for Raegan... I call her faces. She makes the most dramatic faces and is so expressive about everything. She is the best little baby and even though we've had a few tough nights, last night she only woke up once to eat!

I ran across this picture of my sweet husband and just had to post it. I love his smiling face...it reminds me that everything will be ok. I'm missing him so much right now and just wishing that he could snuggle baby Raegan and enjoy her as much as I have been. I love you, Ned. I'm counting the days until you're back home with us.
