Easily amused...

It is no secret that I am WAY too entertained by kitchen gadgetry. I cannot help it. Even as a kid I loved getting any kind of kitchen toy that I could use. Anyway, I was at the NEX (Navy-Exchange...AKA tax free paradise!) and found this totally cool kitchen dispenser. It mounts to the wall and the canisters (3 in a set) pop off the mounting and you can fill it with whatever. The NEX had two left, so I bought them. I L-O-V-E these things! I have cereal in some and goldfish crackers in another one. As a fun surprise for the kids, Ned bought two huge bags of M&M's for another one. I am all about a good find...I looked at Amazon and these were $48.75 plus tax and shipping! The NEX had these clearanced at $8.50. So I try to look at it as 80 bucks saved...not 17 spent. Don't you agree??

Dance Revolution...

This afternoon, the kids decided to play "Dance Revolution". It was a lot harder than it looked... but it was a lot of fun!

Fondue as I'm doing...

I think my kids and I should have been around in the 70's when Fondue was all the rage. It is STILL Tatum's favorite family activity! If you are ever needing a fun thing to do with your kids, I highly reccomend it. Especially since you can dip fruits and veggies (for cheese) and the whole thing can have some sense of nutrition. Anyway, here are some pictures from our little fondue party the other night.

Some random smiles...

An afternoon at the park...

The great thing about Whidbey Island is that everywhere you look it's beatiful. The downside is that the weather so rarely cooperates and lately the kids haven't had much chance to get out because of the rain and cold. Finally we had a clear day yesterday and we took the kids to the park at the end of our street.

This is the view from our house! We love it here!!!

Dad and Carson trying to be smooth.
Finishing the afternoon off with a Frosty! What could be better?

Happy Anniversary!

It is a well known fact that my anniversary is my FAVORITE day of the year. Yesterday Ned and I celebrated 7 years of being married and it was a great day. We've had 7 anniversaries under 7 different sets of circumstances. As I reflect back on the years it is humbling to me how much we are meant to learn and grow in our lives. I have grown up so much since March 2, 2002. I have become a different person...and hopefully for the better. When Ned and I were engaged, I would often worry and wonder about what life would bring us. Where would we be in 2 years, in 5 years, in 15? Life has certainly brought us more than a few suprises, but all in all...life is good. Now, the person I am 7 years later doesn't want a crystal ball to see where we are in 20 or 30 years. Because slowly I'm learning that getting there is half the fun.
